R onwers .. how do you guys takecare of C/F Hood on your ride?

how can you keep them shinny?

polish them? how? what kind do i use? wax?

is hood pin NEEDED?

Have it clear coated then keep it waxed.

i clayed, two coats of glaze and then waxed it mine couple weeks ago. chit looks like marble now

wax, clear coat. keep out of direct sunlight as much as possible

A buddy of mine learned the hard way. "I don't need hood pins it has a latch.."! Fast forward 2 weeks later the latch gave and the hood smashed up his window. Don't forget the HOOD PINS!!!!

Ive had a cf hood for a year now without hood pins. Its still holding strong.

Absolutely - I wouldn't drive around with any C/F hood without hoodpins. It's a small price to pay for safety and peace of mind.

EDIT: As for wax, look for one that has UV protection. I've heard of people using marine wax on their hoods as well, though I'm not sure that there is any advantage to this and I don't know whether such waxes have UV inhibitors. HTH.

Go to a body shop and have them shoot clear on it like they would a car after it is painted and just wax perriodicly and you will be ok
