exhaust ?
hows d lads? have d16z6 4dr with 4-2-1 header ,no cat and straight pipe back to noisy fart can. my question is this. if i refit the oem back box will it hurt the performance of the rest of the system? car is way too loud! is there any performance box dats not mad loud? thanx in advance for any help.
If you get the piping on the stock muffler enlarged a bit, then it shouldn't hurt performance that bad, but then again I don't know if that's possible because the hole in the stock muffler is only large enough for the stock piping.
There are other alternatives...
A)Apex'i WS2 cat-back exhaust...from what I've heard, it's quiet and looks reasonably stock (there are other brands who make similar exhausts, but from what I've heard...this is the best for a street car looking for a little performance)
B)This is what I'm doing...I bought an '07 Si axle-back exhaust (piping is ~2.25"...which is what the rest of my exhaust is) and I'm going to be buying a high-flow cat to replace my test pipe. I'll drop my car off at the muffler shop and get a new axle-back section and a new cat-section

thanks jkov240. so this axle back section comes off what car? im in ireland our models are badged diiferent to yours i think. is it a straight swap or is there cutting and welding involved?
I got mine off of a 2007 Civic Si coupe...but you can also use Acura RSX Type-S, Civic Si sedan, and Honda S2000 mufflers.
I got mine off of an other Honda-Techer for $50 shipped (hell of a deal), but I wouldn't pay more than $100 shipped for a used one. eBay is another option
And yes, it does involve cutting and welding.
