Cold Compression Weird #'s ?????
So i went over to a buddies house last night that has a B18C5 for sale the motor is already out of the car and the intake manifold and exhaust manifold were off the motor as well. But we took cold compression.
Any way while doing the test we found the following
CYLINDER #1=120
CYLINDER #2=180
CYLINDER #3=180
CYLINDER #4=180
Any who my question is that will cylinder #1 become more consistent as the temp in the motor rise (ie:warms up)??
Any thoughts at all would help thanks.

If the engine hasn't been run in a while, take some oil(a small amount) and dump it in the cylinders and then see what kind of compression it has. My car sat for about 2 months, and had diddly for compression. Cranked it over for about a minute to get the cylinder walls coated and then did a test. Guess what? It passed, all 4 cyls.

will we did that in #1 because at first it hit 60 then put some oil in it and hit 90 and then a little more oil and hit 120.
since we tested that cylinder like 4 times.

REBUILD THE BOTTOM END. the block needs a FRESH oem rebuild. buy a rebuild kit and be done with it...
It has Low comp in ONE cylinder, motor ain't no good like that man. rebuild is the only thing it needs.. do it right and it'll last a long time.

...Please stop telling him to do that that is way to much overkill for one cylinder...
and if he is leaking it doesnt mean its bottom end so stop posting
OP: It could be a bad head gasket, valve seats my be leaking, valves may not be seating properly first thing you could try doing is replace the head gasket and go from there dont think about a full rebuild until youve ruled the small things out.

first off all when you guys do your compression tests, the engine should be at operating temp, if it is out of the car, use a little bit of oil in cylinders, and always do it with throttle wide open as well. You need to get a cylinder leak down tester, so you can tell how much leak down each cylinder has, shouldnt be more then like 15% at the very most. Also, while doing the test if you hear air coming from intake then you have intake valve problem, if you ear air coming from exhaust side, then you have exhaust valve problem, otherwise you will have a headgasket and/or cylinder/piston/ring problem
