Default ok so this is pretty ricer of me buuut...

i bought my car about 4 months ago, and i just came to find yesterday that it has neons under the seats and dash. but theyre not hooked up. so i want to hook them up. i think they look halfway cool in only those spots, not cool enough to buy them, but they came with the car, so i might as well use them. now, ive ready that i can just tap into the power wire for the cig lighter, so thats what im planning to do, sounds pretty simple. but how do i wire a switch up to it?

I would personally wire it from the battery, as the cig lighter circuit already has a lot of stuff on it, and it could easily blow the fuse if you plugged something into the lighter with he lights on.

If you do want to go ahead with it, then you can use an inline splice junction with the cig lighter to a switch of your choosing and location. Ground the rest of the circuit to the body and you will be good. Do you happen to know how many amps are drawn by the lights?

That circuit is only rated 15 amps, and has quite a few things on it.

well i never use my lighter, and if i ever have to use it ill just cut the lights, no biggie, but my brothe used to be a hardcore ricer, and when he wired his up to the battery, it drained it all the time.

No offense, but your brother was not skilled in electricity at all.

If you want to use the lighter, then I would suggest using an inline splicer to get the power from the car. With these, you do not have to do any stripping and just clamp the connector on the wire. They are only suitable for low current applications, though, which I am assuming your lighting system is.

haha he probably wasnt, he's much much smarter now, but he has this silver eclipse, and it was lit up like a christmas tree, but anyway, id like to make this as easy as possible, but not if it will be inefficient.

I would hook it up to the light switch. as soon as you turn on your lights the neon will turn on...unless you want to control them through a switch, then i would tap into auxilary.

Yeah, I would tap into the under dash fuse panel in one of your option pins. Since I do not know what year integra you have, I cannot really help you much, but if you do have a DA, I have a diagram of the under-dash fuse panel and which option you can use. (my normal host is down, or I would just put the diagram up now.) There are two routes you could go, but I think the best for you depends on how much current the lights draw. This way is going to be the most professional while still being easily removable, and you don't have to hack up your car's harness.
