1989 JEEP Cherokee 4.0 5spd!!!! Winter Truck!!
Hey guys, i've had this truck since the the spring. Got it off of a friend, i have'nt put more than maybe 1000 miles at the most on it since i got it.
Its an '89 Cherokee Sport 2door 5spd with the 4.0 straight six.
this truck is one of the last true Jeeps as it was still made by AMC, not Chrysler. The truck is red, has peeling clearcoat on the hood and roof, some rust on the bottom door edges and rockers but the chassis as a whole is solid as hell still. Truck runs like a top and is literally probrably only 1/2 through its life, seriously. These things are completely bulletproof and run forever.
It has no power options, just a baseline Sport model pretty much. it needs some work to be driven but would make an awsome work truck or winter ride, or just a back up vehicle. All i used the truck for was to pull my boat around until the Slave cylinder blew. Its been sitting outside my house for 2 months and has'nt moved, its still registered and insured, runs, just does'nt drive well because of the bad slave cylinder.
-'89 year Sport model
-4.0 straight six (torque monster)
-5spd Ax-5 tranny
-147,xxx miles
-clean grey interior except bad headliner
-solid body and drivetrain
-dana 35 rear, dana 30 front
-NP273 Part time Transfer Case with 2.73:1 lo-range reduction gear (this equals to somewhere around 275 lbs of torque PER axle while in 4 Lo-Range, about 550 total to the ground!!!!
The truck has a new Clutch master cylinder, waterpump, tuneup, fluid changes, belt, New vaccum lines for front axle vacuum engage motor.
What it needs to be driven
-slave cylinder (about $100)
-front tires (dryrotted)
-Steering column wiggles around alot, i think the tilt lock is broken or something, you can get one of these columns at the junkyard for $40 and they are a dime a dozen.
I'm going to start at lets say $750 AS-IS!! i'm open to offers. Lets see if i can get this sold, would be a great winter truck.
I'm in Southern NY 10925
Shoot me Offers!!!!! Cash Talks!!!!!!

hey man,
the mileage stated was 147,000 original miles, to my knowledge i believe i'm only the 3rd owner of the truck, my good friend being the 2nd owner.
The slave cylinder is internal unfortunately (this is why it is'nt fixed yet). I bought the truck with a bad clutch master cylinder, about 2 days after i replaced this the slave cylinder blew out and its been sitting since which is just over two months ago.
