How to: modify your stock EG6 civic seats into supportive buckets!
Ok everyone, I made some mods with my stock seats, I was really! pleased w/ the results! I want to
share Some may mock and poke fun, EVERYONE knows how uncomfortable and sorry stock 92-95 civic
seats are. Well I had a lil free time on my hands so I experimented with extracting the useless and
excess foam in the seat: STEP ONE: Unclip the snap rings which hold the cloth covers on your seats with
two pairs of needlenose plyers, next unhook the springs that keep the cloth snug against the foam.
Then , on the upper portion, once you got the cover up, take a RAZOR SHARP knife and you can slice
aprox 1 1/2'' thick worth of padding off of the lower back lumbar support portion of the seat(it is
sectioned off into aprox. 1ft by 8inch square and protrudes out of the foam mold) Also you may want to
remove the upper section where the lower neck portion inbetween your shoulder blades. The spongy
foam material is kinda of sectioned in there and also sticks out from the rest of the foam so its easy to
make it equal height , STEP TWO:You can also do the bottom portion of the seat! there are square
sections under your bum and where your thighs rest, I like this modification because now I sink into the
back of the seat , I have the side bolster support on my ribcage and because of removing the middle
square on the bottom portion, my thighs are now snug in between the mounds that are on now able to
serve there "intended purpose! " ! Plus I sit aprox 1-2 inches lower! Better lumbar support , Almost like a
del sol but with Thigh support! Hey I was really stinkin bored! Recover your seat w/ wire ties and your
done! It took me aprox 1hour and its free!!! . Its a shame Honda didn't have them designed this way
from the factory!

hey r. angel, I wish I had a digital camera. But other things have my finacial priorities! Hey, I here you wanna send me one! is it true?
But If I get acess to one soon, I will definately post pics. Shoot, I might be crazy but it would be neat if I could start a lil side business where I can have customers order a set of seats from me, I could charge Only for the cost of the seats, Shipping , and alil for the service. pick up sets at salvage yards where EG' seats are a dime a dozen, Perform the mods, Ship em out, Wala. Might be an Idea, Except for everything , Would be getting close to the cost of del sol buckets. But I must say the bottom portion being so comfy now makes them better than delsol's In my opinion!

I have owned delsol seats too! They are good in hugging your rib cage and pretty good at lower back support. They are also good in that they cause you to sit aprox 2 " lower than a stock civic seat. With this foam material extraction. You get about the same effect as a del sol bucket but with bolsters for the thighs!!!! I am going to borrow a camara when I can and take pictures of the differnt stages when I opporate on my passenger seat!
