ITR or DC sport header
What are you looking for the most? Reliability, power gains, ground clearance, collector size, etc. It depends what you want really.
Theres a few different choices of DC headers so you might want to specify which one.

if your motor is stock, just get a DC header with a 2inch collector. 2.5 is TOO much. This was proven in an issue of Honda-Tuning. They dyno tested a B18c1 motor with all the headers and a DC 4-2-1 header with 2inch collector made the most HP. The only time 2.5 inch collector would be good for is anything that is BOOSTED or High Compression 11:1 or higher.

No, all of the CARB-approved headers have the stock 2.0" collector.

Not to offend you, but I would not rely on issues of Honda-Tuning for my information.

Thats exactly what I was thinking lol. The Hytech replica header has a 2.5" collector and is already dyno proven in the sponsors to beat the stock ITR and comptech header on a stock b18c5.

none taken. i relied on their dyno graphs. it was all in one of their articles, dyno graphs and all.. and i usually only believe things i see, hear.. if you read the article it makes sense what they said about heat, back pressure and the size of the collector, etc.. it was a long story..

yes on a stock B18c5 which has higher compression than the B18c1. a 2.5inch collector is much better on B18c5 but wont help a low compression stock B18c1.

The compression of the C1 is not all that much lower than the C5.
What headers were "tested" and how was the testing done?

its a header, neither one will really affect reliability. i have a megan racing and it does fine

i got a t1r header
its a great header, you can retain the cat, as long as you get a jdm itr one, or an aftermarket test pipe like the 2.5 inch t1r.
for the price you buy a jdm itr header, you might as well get something much better for a little extra. just my opinion
