engine overhaul/ rebuilt on a accord
my 99 accord f23a4 engine need to be overhaul/rebuilt it is leaking oil all over the place. it is currently have 170,xxx miles on it, so i have a few questions.
1. what is avg price for something like this if they were to use all aftermarket parts and if the shop were to use all honda parts?
2. would it be a better option to get a motor from a junkyard and replace the obvious like timing belt, water pump, etc. or rebuild the engine?
3. since the engine engine is getting pull out and rebuild, what kind of mod should i consider to get done to gain some torque and hp, but still pass California emission testing? i was thinking of a mild port and polish for the head and intake manifold.

your in cali....you guys have very strict emissions....to completly rebuild the block..psitons rods, seals, is gonna cost you a pretty penny..Junkyard motors are cool but a gamble....mods to make it faster....50 shot of nitrious you are in cali...hope this helps
