Default Winter storage on jack stands, will it warp the chassis?

Well its winter and the R is going park up. I am gonna put it up on 4 jack stands. Don't want my Falken Azenis to flat spot ( can be solved with rolling back and forth, but project car will we in front)

Well anyhow, will this warp the chassis in any way?? Will be placed on the 4 lifting points on the car for about 6-7 months

Let me know thanks

(and yes i did search, so relax lol)

I'm doing the same thing and I was adviced that is O.K. as long as the ground is level on all corners.

FWIW, I haven't had any problems with tires "flat spotting" after a car sits on them 5-6 months without moving. They may do so temporarily, but after driving a few blocks on them at the end of that period, they're fine.

Just inflate the tires to max or a touch higher and you're fine. Stored mine this way for multiple winters with no problems.

This is what Honda and other car manufacturers do to prevent flat spotting while the cars sit in lots etc.

Yeah, they usually come off of the trunk with 45psi (cars). They also do that to keep them secure when they are strapped down on the truck.

I heard the same thing man. When I left for Japan i inquired about warping. I guess putting the car on jack stands can warp the car. I though some crappy rims/tires on and rather get some flat spots.

Mine is already stored for the winter. No jack stands. I think the reason they did that in the first place was to prevent the wheel bearings from seizing from sitting on one spot for a really long period of time. I stored my R on the old SPTs last year and they didn't have any flat spots.

BTW ... OP: is your car on the trader right now?? I recognize your avatar pic.

Hi,

Consider putting the car up on jackstands, with the jackstands under the suspension. No flat spots on tires (some tires flat spot much easier than others) and the weight inputs are where the chassis was designed for them.

My second hand, general misunderstanding (<LOL&gt is that letting the suspension dangle at full droop can damage the shocks in some cases. The above method prevents that too.

FWIW
John

Or better still, just pick up a set of winter tires and drive the thing.

No problem with leaving it on jack stands! I've had cars on jack stands about as long.

Also I wouldn't worry about tires too much, sitting for only 6 months.
