Default Shift **** removal on 07 ex

Just wondering if anyone knew how to remove the shift **** on the non-si models. There doesn't seem to be any screw. I'm thinking just turning it might loosen it but I don't want to F it up. Does anyone here know how to do this?

and yes, I did the search...and nothing.

any help would be great

You gotta pull the shift boot collar down first.
