I would say if the timing belt just snapped and they just turned off the car immediately, which wouldn't have messed up anything (hopefully), then yea, pick it up. If it has internal damage like belt valves or anything like that, then it's kinda iffy.

A snapped timing belt would cause the engine to die anyway, and the rotational inertia remaining in the crank and camshafts, now out of sync, would certainly bend valves anyway. Turning the key off is not going to make the slightest bit of difference.

To the OP, it should be a good deal if you know how to rebuild an engine, and can install valves, valve guides, pistons, etc. yourself. Otherwise, skip it.

if there is nothing else wrong with the car i would jump on it asap. motor is cheap to replace from a junkyard. b20 motors are like 500.

you can get complete b18a's for $300-400...or just a head for less than $100. As long as the body and interior are good id take it.

if it comes with full interior and clean exterior and everything than its definitely worth it imo. You can just throw in another LS and youd have a good running car for ~$1500
