Default Engine Coatings

Long story short, a few ordered part glitches is preventing delivery of my baby (C30A block stroked to 3.6L in an NSX). In the meantime, I'm thinking of having a few parts ceramic coated.

Oil Shedding:
- connecting rods
- crankshaft

Lubricating coating:
- bearings (for sure)
- valve stems

Anyone have any experience with this? Is the expense worth it (outside of the bearings)? Or is it just throwing money away for very minimal gain (less than 1% gain)? It'd be about $600 bones for all of the above.

I've read up on it a bit (potentially biased content) but am interested in getting additional feedback/discussion/general consensus. TIA!

You may want to look into coating your pistons as well. The coating really helps with reducing hot spots on the pistons, and by doing that, reducing chances of detonation.

The oil shedding stuff I wouldn't do because at 8500 rpm, the oil is pretty much everywhere to begin with. Maybe treat the block to get the oil back down in the pan, but not the conrods and crank. I'd like as much oil on/in the reciprocating assembly as possible. And piston coating=

Agreeded, I have Swain Tech. poly moly on my skirts and the ceramic whatever the F54k it is on my piston tops. I also did alot of deburring and filing on my pistons before they were coated. It seems to work excellent as I'm able to run 93 pump with a 120 shot 1/4 mile at a time. No Det and I've been using the same plugs for a couple of years. B4 this it was a meltdown!
