About to get an Accord tune up..
1995 Honda Accord LX 2dr
Well its at 80K miles and I'm about to get the required maintanence (timing belt, water pump, etc). But I also noticed that I'm only getting around 170-200 miles on a full gas tank. So which of these SHOULD be replaced in order to get a BIG increase in gas mileage?
Fuel filter
Air filter
O2 sensor
Injectors
T-State

Fuel filter- at 80k its probably dirty, but not too bad. im at 128 on the orginal getting 28-33 mpg
Air filter- if its dirty replace it or clean it.
O2 sensor- if its bad/ going bad, then yeah replace it. you can loose up to 20% off your mpg from a faulty one.
Injectors- Run a bottle of $3 injector cleaner thru your gas tank.
T-Stat if your cars taking awhile to warm up or is overheating and the top hose is cold or you have no heat out put (goes along with long warm up) then replace it. otherwise why bother, its a bitch to do.</TD></TR></TABLE>

btw, are you sure your doing the math right?
thats like 11 mpg. thats worse than my truck. Are you sure your tires are inflated correctly and everything like that.. or are you just guessing at parts

Nope, I'm serious. I just filled the tank today and looked at the counter. I didnt do any dividing or whatever, but I remember I filled up 3/4 of the tank last time and the counter says 193.
hahaha sorry but that is insanely crappy for any car other than old school American musical.
I almost got as bad gas millage with mine when my map went out. I would still replace your fuel and air filter, the t-stat, spark plugs and oil. it should through a cel if your map, or o2 are bad. the injectors would make it run hella ruff. dose your rear bumper, and trunk always end up black, that would be extra fuel.

ok im thinking of doing the fuel filter, air filter, and injectors. i will most likely start with the injectors.. but do i have to pour that stuff in every time i fill up gas? before or after filling up gas?
Most fuel injector cleaning additives will tell you on the bottle when to add it and how many parts cleaner to fuel they recommend.

How many gallons did you put in? It's possible that the fuel level guage in the tank is off.
And to start off, replace the air filter, add a bottle of engine cleaner (like Seafoam), and replace the spark plugs and wires. All of that will be easy to do yourself, just make sure that you have a spark plug socket for your socket set. If you don't, buy one (Sears will have them).
And when replacing the wires, do only one at a time to make sure you don't get them out of order. In other words, don't pull the wires off of all four plugs, remove all four plugs, then guess at which order they are supposed to go back on. Do one plug / wire at a time.

yeah I dont know if replaceing the injectors would do anything more than a good cleaning. that is as long as they all work but the major tune up sounds like its needed.
