I'm a currently a senior at highschool and my Dad and I are currently in a process of purchasing me a car. I showed him the EP3 and he liked it. This December my dad is purchase me one for Christmas. (wooh. suprise. suprise. )My budget is going to be under 12k.

A couple of questions:

Will 12k be good enough to buy a tip top shape 2002-2005 Civic Si?

What are some "knick knacks" to spot when purchasing an EP3?

When you received your EP3. What did you do right away. I'm into this.

12k limit, oh you'll be fine. Just make sure there are no mods to it. you can get an 02 with 55k miles on it for around 8-9k. More you go up in year more the price will be.

for the ep3 knick knacks i'll let the ep3 owners fill you in on that.

 

yeah for 12k you can find a decent one.

If you can get the 04-05 and then swap to ctr tail lights or 02-03 tail lights.

Little things that help the ep look better are:
-ctr/hfp wing
-A drop of some sort. I prefer the coilover set up apposed to springs
-if it is an 02-03 some side skirts are a must. They make the car look so much better!
-Black out headlights
-Red H's
-ctr front and rear lips. Showstoppers carries these.

As far as performance the basic cai, rh, exhaust will surfice. Kpro after that is a nice touch.

If I had 12k though I would work my *** off to find an rsx-s for that price. Everyone will tell you that the ep3 will make you want more. I know it did for myself and my friend with one. I ended up selling and getting the type s, but he swapped to a k24 and turbo'ed.

 

Get new wheels for sure or you'll get a lot of minivan comments. Hell, you're going to get them no matter what.

 

just to give u a idea of that a ep3 should turn out to be or along the lines of.... not some dumbass rice burner half painted/primered/lowered on cut springs/welded on muffler crap ok kid.... DON'T CUT CORNERS!!!

jdm/mugen/ukdm is what u need to learn...

and also don't drive ur ep off a cliff and end up like this car..

(guy in the background is the guy who drove it off of a cliff after i just sold it to him 2 months before he did this to my car)

he just didn't know how to drive and lost the *** end of the car and went *** first off the side of a mountain and a big rock stoped him from going down into the canal...

yeah well his insurence totaled the car because all the brake lines and gas lines where gone from underneath the car....

so i just thougth to my self that i wouldn't never ever ever see my car driving around town...

i don't think that's rare. weren't they on all the canadian rsx's?

 

yeah ONLY in canada.. kinda rare if you ask me. There's not to many of these rims floating about here in the U.S.
