I tried searching, but had no luck. My headliner is off and wanted to replace the old sun guard/ shade that pulls underneath the actual sunroof. Anyone know how that can be replaced? Does the whole sunroof assembly have to be taken out? TIA.
how did you get your headliner off my sunroof is closing but it wont go down, its shut but not all the way and sometimes it works sometimes it dont so i need to fix it
anyhelp?
anyhelp?
I scanned it but it's too big to host on image shack...
so:
1. Slide the sunshade all the way back
2. Pry plug out of each bracket cover(each side of the glass, looking at the glass from the seat, at each side there are 2), remove the screw and slide cover off (slide it back a bit and then down) to the rear.
3. close sun roof all the way
4. remove the mounting nuts from the front and rear brackets on both sides of the glass. There are 4 per side so 8 total.
5. you now can remove the glass by lifting up and pulling forward. Watch the shims that are at each corner just above the srews. Make sure you remember where they were so that you can put it back as it was or else the glass won't be level and you'll have a leaky sunroof.
6. remove the wind deflector
7. remove the sunshade by pulling it toward the front of the car and then slightly bending it near the end to take it out.
That's it.
