In need of professional engine builder in NJ/PA area
Ok...im not quite sure if this is the correct forum for this post but i figure enough people browse this forum that ill get some responses.
Mods feel free to move it as necessary.
I'm looking for a reputable shop to do a build on my b20b. Its currently sitting with a hunk missing out of piston number two. Cylinder walls look ok but im not machinist so i cant say for sure.
Power goals is under 400-475whp on turbo b16/b20. I've also been thinking of just getting a b18a/b with 84mm bore to replace the b20 but im not sure if this is necessary. I have already spoken with Eddies Valve Grinding and Epic Tuning. I was hoping to learn of a few more shops near me (I live in central NJ).
One of the shops I had spoke with had mentioned all I need do is bore out the b20 a bit (this scares me) and run a decent rod/piston combo, with ARP bolts, honda bearings, and I would have a bottom end that would handle higher boost pressure. Is this true? I was under the impression that the b20 has a history of sleeve failure. Although in my case, the pistons gave way before the cylinder walls.
In any case, I'd like to of a good builder who can help me meet my goals and produce a reliable motor that will good for daily driving and produce good results on the track.
Thanks for your input in advance and I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section of h-t
