Default question about B16 motor with Dseries transmission

Hi,

i just blew up my motor in my civic 2000 SE (i think its a D16 no vtec with D-series) transmission. and a friend of mine can sell me his 96 vtec engine (but im not sure if its a b16 or d16) If its a b16, would it fit on my Dseries transmission, if not, what would be the best thing to do for me.

thx in advance

sorry for my english im french

I think there might be a conversion of some sort, but you are better off trying to find a tranny to match whatever series motor you're putting in. Nearly all D series transmissions will bolt up to D series engines. The same goes for B's. Happy hunting.

If it came out of a 1996 Canadian Civic, it is a D16.
