So a friend of mine broke my key in the ignition. We got the broken part out of the ignition, but only thing is I didn't make a spare while I had a chance
. I heard that I could go to the dealer and give them my VIN or something and get the key made or the code/specs or whatever. Is this true ? If not, what should I do ?
Thanks in advance.

Never had to do it in any of my cars, I always have a spare...
But yes, I had a key made that way for a 94 Stealth because of the same problem your having, except it was broken in the door. The dealership I went to required proof of ownership, so bring your title.

no, don't tow ur freakin' car to honda.
when i made myself a spare key at a honda dealer they needed the vehicle title and i think they looked at my drivers licence. charged me like 7 bucks but o well.
they have all the honda key cuts saved in their database so all they need is a vin and proof.

I've done this plenty of times (had a point where I continually locked myself out of my car...).
Go to Honda. Bring proof of ownership (title), a photo ID, the VIN and $10. Tell them what happened and they should be able to help you out. That should cover it.
