for motor mods i would get cai, a full length race header (bc, ssr, comptech, etc), a catback, and k-pro. dont buy cheap **** tho. its one thing to get a good deal but cheap parts only set you back farther! i know from 1st hand. look for used parts on clubrsx.com and this forum. you can get catbacks for 350-400, a raceheader for 700-1000, k-pro is pretty much a standard 850 without tune, and intake for 150-200.

are there any drawbacks to a cai than a ram? and instead of kpro i was thinking of just getting a chip like reflashes. what companies are recommended (and not a arc box) for exhaust and intake.

when you mean ram.. you referring to SRI (short ram intake)? If that's what you mean then, i'd prefer a SRI over a CAI. CAI's have a tendency to hydrolock your car if it rains a lot in your area plus i don't like the idea of having a filter sit near the ground for a chance of it to suck ANY sort of liquid into my motor. SRI's perform just as efficiently as a CAI but are safer. Don't let anyone talk you into "heat soak" or some other kind of garbage. On brand, just buy any intake from ebay, autozone wherever.. cuz all an intake is, is a mandrel bent tube fitted specificly to your car. Don't need a namebrand on a piece of mandrel bent tube. As for exhaust, i'd go with the OEM exhaust like the 05-06 for the typeS (unless you have an 05-06 typeS). If you want that extra whopping 1-2 top end hp and like to spend 400-500+ bucks then you could go buy some namebrand exhaust. For the reflashes you could go with reflash and then upgrade to K-pro later.
