Air Intake
I bought an ebay SRI and it comes with an air filter, what steps or precautions should I take when removing my stock air filter and installing the new SRI? Does any wiring need to be done? Thanks
Depending on the fit, I had to get a piece of fuel line for the coolant line that is joined with the valve cover breather.
The kit should have come with a 1/2" diameter hose for the breather part of it.
Keep the SRI from hitting the positive battery post.
I would suggest getting a better filter for it. K&N or some name brand. Not APC.

Seriously?!? You don't need the "little hose." I drove without one for months and then I finally got one for God knows why. And why would you unplug the battery? And resetting the computer does nothing when you have an intake. Or and exhaust, cams, or intake manifold for that matter. You need to get it tuned at that point.

That's why you put a nipple on there.

This is a reason why but it is not neccessary.

No no no, The 1/2" hose provides clean air into the valve cover for when the PCV valve opens so the extra air if needed is filtered. If the air does go the other way into the SRI it just gets sucked into the IM.
The gas hose is for the coolant from the head to the throttle body. It will replace the metal line that is stock.

I bought that one, looks like it has everything I need, correct? I think I heard something about an o2 sensor or something like that required for the intake is that true? Or do I only need the hose you were talking about?

That is wierd? It has two nipples on it....you only need one. I guess you can block off one of them.
If you look at your stock intake tube you will see a metal tube that goes from the valve cover to the stock intake tube. You will remove this and use one of the supplied hoses from the kit as the replacement.
If you look close at the tube it has another one attached to it. To make it look cleaner I replaced the attached tube with the fuel hose.

If you look at the intake on my car you will see the blue hose from the valve cover to the SRI. What you can't see is the coolant line just under it.

I went and took a look at it last night, out of my stock air filter there are three things connected to it, on my new intake it has 2 nipples and a big hole. Only one of them will fit into the intake what should I do?
