Spoon header + Carsound cat install = CEL 65
well, i just finished bolting everything up. checked all o2 sensor's and everything. still throwing a CEL 65. any idea what's wrong?
no exhuast leaks, nothing.
65 - Oxygen Sensor Heater (Secondary) malfunctioning or defective oxygen sensor heater
can anyone elaborate?
TIA

just tug it to see if it comes apart...if it does, it probably wasn't fully connected
did you drop it at all, could have messed it up while it was out?

nope, pulled the grey sensor out of the hole in the frame. pulled the 4 prongs out. and took the cat from under the car. unscrewed o2 sensor put on new cat(securly i might add) and then plugged back in. i double checked(unplugged prongs and plugged back in to make sure it was in all the way) earlier today, and its still throwing after i reset the ECU.
My Carsound is throwing CEL 65 too. It's been that way for months, I've never figured out the problem. Did you get the flanges on your Carsound done by a muffler shop? I'm suspecting the welds on mine are leaking due to a crappy muffler shop job. A leaking cat would draw in more oxygen and throw the CEL.

there's a harness you can disconnect? oh ****..
on me.
ok from what i remember starting from the cat,-> o2 sensor, -> wire -> blue rubber -> hole in frame -> 4 prongs -> grey sensor.
i must not have noticed there was a clip or something..i think i just cost myself some money....
will the CEL cause any damage? limp mode? etc?

On the other end of the spectrum, my secondary O2 is damaged and completely unplugged, and after 30 or so miles I still haven't gotten a CEL

can you use the secondary o2 sensor in place of the sensor on the header? my before cat sensor is burnt up and i got a testpipe and was going to wrap the secondary in foil anyway, might as well see if i can make good use of it, thanks
the sensors are interchangeable, so you can use the secondary one on the header. As for pulling the 4 pins out of the plug, just get them back in there in the proper locations, and next time keep in mind that it disconnects easily from the harness.

Probably from the piece of **** Carsound cat.; where did you buy it?
so far, im not getting that rattle that everyone seems to get.
did the wires come out of 02 sensor harness?
if so, u may have not put the 02 sensor wires back in correclty
they go in like this:
top of clip
Green White
Black Black
make sure its in that order

I just had a CODE 65! I took it to the dealer, and it was covered under warranty. I think it's a recall, but anyway the sensor went bad and had nothing to do with the high flow cat. fixed for free.
To the People blaming a Cat for an O2 Sensor Failure Code
I'll put money that the wires are plugged in incorrectly, or the O2 Sensor was damaged.

with the o2 sensor. just not exactly what it was until some ppl responded. obviously the code states the problem is with the o2 sensor and not the cat.
