i have a 1991 honda accord coupe 5spd the car will not go into 3 gear . what could be the problem and what is the best way to fix it?

 

has their been any symptoms of grinding or hard to get into gear ? is 3rd gear the only gear having problem's ?

 

i have the same problem and it sucks
but i would say the syncros are gone

 

could be an issue i have 255k on my 91 wagon and no trans problems at all.

 

no just started on me my clutch is going then so i didnt really drive it much just started it in the morning till i got my clutch but then i went out the other night and i went up the block and put it in 3rd and it was grinding the gear like crazy

 

but what did you do to fix it, rebuild the trans or got a second hand one?

 

Replace tranny it should be cheap - just hit up the FS thread or the junkyards, if you were closer I'd sell you my old 5spd

 

Is it the stock motor? If so thats the same transmission on a H23.
I know that for a facted. Mine won't go in 3rd eather sorry man it's your transmisson. It in side the transmission.
