Soo yeah, I broke my car

Alright, so I bought new tires for next season and I still have a little life left on my current tires and it's going in storage soon so I figured I'd do a nice burnout since I never have in my car since I bought it (August '05) and I don't need the tires anymore. It didn't end up working. My rpm's went up to 8,000 and just stayed there. Once I realized my tires weren't spinning at all (several seconds) I put the ebrake down. My car immediately smelled of burnt clutch. When I went to shift into second I realized it was really hard to do. When I eventually came up to a stop I couldn't get the car in first gear at all so I jammed it in second again and had to jam it again into 3rd (also note that my clutch was slipping in every gear). 4th and 5th seemed okay but definitely not the same. After I let the car cool down and everything I tried to drive it again. It went into first fine this time. I thought my problems were gone but as soon as I started moving I had to jam it into the gears again and once again couldn't get it into first the next time I came to a stop. The next day I tried again and I couldn't get it in any gear at all so I pushed it into the garage and it's been sitting there for a couple weeks now. One thing that stumped me about all this is, when the car is off I can put it in any gear and start the car and I would be able to drive it, however I wouldn't be able to shift. I originally assumed it was my clutch, but when I found this out I was a little confused.
Help would be appreciated.

this is the culprit right here.....

I'm not going to rag on you for doing a burn out, I don't do them, but they're still fun.
Your clutch disc took a dump, chances are. The same thing happened to me, except I was just driving normal (i.e. Redlining every gear), and the clutch let out at redline.
It ended up being a completely destroyed stock disc.
It's not a big deal man.

I don't do them either. It was a one time thing, like I said I haven't done any since I bought the thing. And I wasn't too worried about it. My clutch hasn't been grabbing very well lately anyways, I just wanted to make sure that's my issue before I go drop the money on it and everything.

More than likely it's just the clutch.

If it's not, it's something similar to an oem replacement... I guess we'll find out for sure when I get in there.

Were you tring to do this? http://video.google.com/videop...hl=en
This happened to both my ITR's over the years, minus the burnouts. I've never attemped one in a wrong wheel drive car.
It's a spring failure on the clutch's disk. For some reason the springs are the weak point of our clutches but that probably salvages other more important parts.
Just don't get a Clutchmaster's and remember, paragraphs ftw.
good luck,
Matt

I disagree. I've had great luck with Clutchmasters several times, as have a number of other people I know personally.
