Default Should oil come out of hole where Dizzy meets Head?

As title states. Should oil come out when you take the Distributor off? I would say about a cap full and half of oil came out of cylinder head when i took DIzzy off. I just drove hte car around about 3 miles and started to work on the car, but the amount of oil coming out is what worried me.

The drainage on that side of the head isn't always that great. so yes.

the only seal there is on the distributor. That seal is there to keep oil from leaking out of the head. Even with the oil drained, there is room for oil to settle where the dizzy rotor lies, and that is what leaks out when you remove the dizzy.

Is it not more than that?

I've had a serious trickle come out with it before....
