Default Help, can't get exhaust bolts off

Hey I'm trying to install my turbo kit now, but I can't get the nuts off the downpipe/cat connection. These are normal nuts right? I should be turning it counter-clockwise? Also is there anything i should be careful of in taking off the O2 sensor?

yes, it's counter-clockwise, get a torch from home-depot, and light them up....they'll come off easy after that...g/l

either that, or turn on your car for a while to let the exhaust heat up the bolts

go to the gym and pump some iron for a few weeks, then come back to the install.

hehe j/k. I got stuck at the EXACT same spot as you. I ended up leaving the braket on and unbolted the bolts on the block.

OK, i'm down to this one bolt holding the heat sheild to the header and removing the O2 sensor. Can anyone give me some advice on getting the O2 sensor off? I see a clip a few inches above the actual probe, but I can't seperate it. Anyone got advice?

On the clip holding the o2 sensor is there a part where you have to push in on the top and the bottom then pull. Once you get the header off its a lot easier to remove the o2 sensor. I was trying to disconnect the o2 sensor for a while until I realized you have to push in at two different spots.

AHHHH, finally after several hours of work i got the O2 sensor and that last bolt off. I had already tried pb catalyst, liquid wrench, and wd40, but nothing worked til i tried the suggestion of heating it up....i just started the car and let it run for 30 seconds.....and off they came! All I got left is.....well everything except for the fuel pump and regulator Thanks guys.
