Default expletive ME!

i guess I'm confused.. I bought the skunk 2 intake manifold for my 00 prelude...After research and first hand expierence i found that i might have gained peak hp but lost SOO much low end tq...I do have a cracked DC header....i ordered a Hytech Header however...If i was to keep this intake manifold will the HYtech header help to restore the lost tq..... how does this sk2 compare to a accord euro r with a blacktrax spacer?? Please help i want full power out of this skunk 2 i spent450 on it and i dont know who i could sell it to?

this is Sarah by the way..i posted yesterday but had to make another sn because it wouldnt let me post again...now if i were to keep this skunk 2 which i would be forced to for the money i paid, if i were to upgrade to crower stage 2 cams, and valve springs...also with this hytech header would i regain all the lost tq for this manifold or would i be better off just buying the accord euro r and the spacers....is hytech header a catless header

Its a constant battle, lowend driveability vs. highend power. You should get those mods regardless but its hard to make lowend torque on a 4 banger especially after bolt ons. A small turbo would do the trick though!

p.s. that new header will help out. Cracked headers and leaky exhausts rob lowend torque.

You need to fix the problems that are obvious.....start by replacing the cracked header then report back to us

What color is your lude? Are you in the Albany area ever? Anyway try replacing the header as suggested and tuning. I would personally prefer the Euro-R IM over all other IM's out there. Good midrange, and peak HP, and it's OEM Honda.

I seem to remember there being a dyno comparison of a stock IM, a Euro-R, and a Skunk2 IM a long time ago, but I have not since been able to find the dyno. The stock IM performed the worst. The Skunk2 performed well, but sacrified mid-range power as compared to the other two, but had a higher peak hp. The Euro-R performed the best mid-range up until the end of the where it peaked a little less than the Skunk2. The new header might help some, as DC header's aren't that great of an upgrade over stock when compared to reputable designs. Your IM would perform better with a more aggressively upgraded motor i.e. increased compression, better cams etc but just to slap that on a otherwise stock motor really doesn't do much. You might want to try tuning as well, perhaps that can help. The Euro-R however works on mild to highly built engines and would be the one that I would upgrade to short of ITB's if it were my choice. Before we meetup, I gotta get my lude back, gimme a week

big cams love more compression. doing both at the same time would of course net more power.

crower 3 cams require upgraded valvetrain. other than that they're drop in and tune.

you are limited to the Ultimate. You cant run the systems like hondata, neptune, crome...etc

IMO, the Skunk2 manifold doesnt compare to the EuroR. I have had both, peak was pretty good with the skunk2, but i gained EVERYWHERE with the euroR.

btw, please make better thread titles.

Uhhh ohhhhhhhhhhh. An automatic huh? If you get this lude decently modified your auto tranny will be the next thing to go out soon. You should consider converting to manual. There is like another 15-20 pony mod right there.

Yeah the cams are still for sale, no I don't have valvetrain. I'm not using them anymore, and I'd rather not throw them away, so I'm selling them.

Whats so sexy about your vtec? Pics or ban. And not of the car. btw, check the title
