Do you need twin wastegates with a twin scroll turbo

Default Do you need twin wastegates with a twin scroll turbo

I was wondering as above if u can just route the piping from each scroll of the upipe into one wastegate rather than using two wastegates..

Can it be done and would this increase surge by any chance?

i know of a few running a single 60mm with twin scroll, 2 pipes merge into one collector for the 60

answer is No, I'm running a T04 Topmount and have one 44mm WG and holds a perfect line at 15 psi. you do not need it held fine with a .70 a/r housing and jumped to a 1.15 a/r housing same deal.

get a couple elbows and have a 1/8 divided to the wg valve. Works good. here is a pick of mine
