s2000 antenna = no radio reception
well i got the kit from rstor (which was very well put together
) and the s2000 antenna mast, put it all together, stood back and took a nice long look at my new, non-ugly antenna.
BUT... then i proceeded to sit down in the car and turn the key only to have the radio barely get any reception.
Is there any way to keep this antenna and up the reception to a point where i can actually listen to the radio? have any of you guys done anything to remedy this problem at all?

I've heard others complain of a weak reception as well. As for myself, I got the same kit from RStoR and the reception is the same.
unless you live in a huge city or near a metropolis, s2k antenna may give you signalling problems. I hope you had considered that possibility.
what you could try is having your s2k antenna mounted how it is, but connect the radio to your stock antenna, which would be kept inside your trunk. That might work. I am not a fan of the s2k --> DC2 antenna thing b/c I personally think its a ricer mod (worse functionality for many, just a cosmetic thing)

Personally I think they're just as ugly
Anyways you could try regular FM antenna, same stuff you'd use for a stereo. Some speaker wire might work just as well. run a long (4 ft+) length of it behind the interior panels, or even just bunch it up in one spot. Should yield better reception then your lil stubby.

Why Rice...... The Stock antenna would weight heaps more than that S2000 one.
Seeing it does have a little motor on it.
Weight saving on an ITR is NEVER RICE.
Even if it's only a pissie amount.(IMO)

Try replacing the S2K antenna mast to the Insight mast.
I believe S.N.: Toda Party had the Insight mast instead of the S2K. He also could not receive good reception.
Note that its was on his ITR too. He can tell you all about it. Try I.M.

How far away from a major city do you live? I also have the s2000 antenna and have perfect reception all the time! I live like 40 minutes NW of Boston though.
we covered this a few weeks ago. IN this post

Basically just add some speaker wire to the threaded piece that the coax is connected to and you will be back to normal reception.
