Engine Dampers worth the $$$?
So I'm about to lay down so cash for some better than stock motor mounts since I just blew one on my car. Engine is shaking like crazy during shifts and I can hear some banging, so I'm parking it for now. I'm going to get some Innovative Mounts, but is it overkill to add an engine damper? I've read some people say that they feel more vibrations when they add one to the car when they are driving. I thought it was supposed to absorb the vibrations the engine produces? I was leaning towards the Ingalls Stiffy just to try it out, but looking at their website it says it is meant for stock cars with stock engine and is not for cars with engine swaps, so which one can I use? I was thinking I could just use the ETD meant for the 99-00 Si. Opinions please.
I just use the mount inserts, they have stiffened up the mounts and prevent wheel hop pretty good. The dampners are cool for bling factor
Yah I'm thinking its more for show. I guess its a good thing for people with stock mounts. I think aftermarket motor mounts absorb most of the engine vibration already. Don't see any harm in getting a ETD anyway. But if I did, I'm still not sure which to get since like I said the Ingalls website says it is meant for stock cars with stock engines and is not for cars with engine swaps. Makes me think the ETD meant for my car won't fit.
