Default sk2 Intake Manifold

Hey everyone, my name is Sarah and I'm new to the site. I currently own a2000 prelude with some basic bolt ons including i/h/e and also and skunk 2 intake manifold, Anyways i feel as though i was taken advantage of seeing as though im a woman. My problem is this. The intake manifold was installed and now i feel as though i lost serious power. There is a WHISTELING SOUND, when i push the pedal and its comming from possibly the im or the cai not sure...anyways it feeels like a huge loss of power...also the pedal is sticky but i belive that is due to the TB plate not being in full rotation or its needed to be cleaned....Anyways please somone help me i don't feel like paying another 200 to redo this stupid thing....i want my power restored?

the whistling is normal. power loss is likely normal. Have you done any tuning to compensate for the complete change in intake manifold design?

are you using a stock TB?

I would say take the s2 manifold off and put the stock IM back on if you want your power back. This manifold requires tuning to extract is power gains, which isnt much.......

you would need fuel and ignition tuning and that takes more money. Not to mention its not a guarantee to regain your power

That manifold is great for turbo setups but for N/A you lose a lot of torque and in turn some hp. You could get it tuned to make use of the manifold but on your N/A setup you won't see much if any gains over stock.

umm guys she just cleared up something that would make her bog out and lose power. She cracked her header and test pipe. Go get those fixed. That will help out a bit. As for the manifold, go pay someone a bit of money for the tune. Its better than just selling it off, might as well use it.

honestly i don't think you would loose much hp from a header leak or test pipe leak....putting the test pipe on prolly lost tq due to loss of back pressure, and as far as the manifold goes i have no idea...im sure somone on here can suggest something else to beef her up...i think possibly cams and tb if u want to stay NA not sure what tb will work or if any spacers will work with ur sk2...also it might b a nice option to port and polish ur stock manifold or even get an accord euro r as a trade for ur skunk 2 and like 100 bucks

depends where the leak is.

if its on the header itself, it could lose power by allowing oxygen into the exhaust thus making the o2 sensor think its running leaner and provide the engine with fuel it doesnt need. Also, depending where it is, the exhaust resonance could get messed up and make the exhaust inefficient which would in turn lose power.

you seriously need to stop posting as much.

remember to pay more attention to the whole graph and what it did to the WHOLE operating range and not just the peak numbers.

upgrade your TB and then get the car tuned.

properly tuned and ported with TB will give you gains.

spacers will be useless. Sarah you just need a good tune to get the power back.

The best mod you can do right now is to convert that auto to manual. That alone is like a 15-20 pony mod. Also auto trannies are known to be week. With a good amount of modification you auto transmission will be the next thing to go out. I hope you still have a warraranty on that because fixing that can be expensive.

your best bet is probably something like a vafc fuel controller. I think you are gonna be hosed on everything else since your car is an auto.
