Fidanza Flywheels?
Want to get a lightned flywheel, and certainly want an Al piece v. a chromoly so Fidanza it is, however, I wanted to hear from a few people acutallly using the flywheels. Which one did you get, as in weight, and was the ordeal worth it? Also, if anyone has the part # available for the a 99 prelude fidanza flywheel, I'd appreciate it.
Every single person that I've heard that has used them truly enjoys the performance that they get from it. If you're interested in getting a flywheel I have one for sale in the classifieds section. Fidanza only offers one flywheel for the H22, H23, or F23 engine blocks. Do a search and I'm sure that you'll find something.

Fidanza flywheel here also. I'm not currently using it but trust me, get one! I'm a CNC machinist by trade and the quality of the flywheels is awesome. They offer only one weight for the H22 so far which is around 9lbs. I have yet to hear of any bad experiences with the flywheels.
They also started making flywheels for Fords a while back. I've talked to a few Mustang shops about them and there again, nothing but good comments.

The 2 things I do not like about fidanza are that it is aluminum, not as strong as chromoly, and that it is a 2 piece design. Now if you are driving hard, you are revving about 6,000 rpms. What if the screws come out and it comes apart? What is going to stop it from coming through the tranny, hood,or firewall? After looking at them I just do not like the design. Not the sturdiest that I have seen.I know that a lot of you guys are going to disagree with me but, that is why they have this forum. This is just my 2 cents worth.Kinda like food for thought.
I have heard of guys that have had the alan head screw's come loose while driving and messed up the clutch. I haven't seen it first hand so...take it this info with a grain of salt.

If the screws coming out is a worry, simply make an indention between the screw and the screw seating area.....no more worry.
The screws will not come out if all are properly torqued in sequence. If someone removes the contact plate and fails to do so, yes, they will back out.

I have an Unorthodox Aluminum flywheel. Been in for 3 years with numerous trips to the track & no problems. Probably not as light (10 lbs or so) as a Fidanza, but whatever you go with, you'll love the throttle response & it's worth the effort to get it in there.
I've heard these stories, and even know someone it's happened to, but this has nothing to do with the flywheel. It's improper installation. If a flywheel bolt comes out it just wasn't torqued down right... period.
This same friend has become very paranoid and insisted that I put loctite on the threads before installing it... which you're not really supposed to do. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with mine.
BTW, if you didn't know, Findanza and Clutchmasters are made by the same company. I got my clutchmaster from Import Auto Salvage for $250.

Yeah I have this issue once in a while. The car makes a noise like when you turn the key with the car started already. It's suppose to kill the starter after a while, but mine still works. I'd say about 10% of the time I turn the key, I have this issue. If I ever get a Quaife, I'll have the tuner look into this issue..or if the starter dies I guess.
Have you guys heard thing about Aluminum flywheels warping? I heard JUN chromoly flywheels won't do that. What I was told was that the heat from the bolts will make the flywheels warp. Is this true?
