Default fuel pump removal

hey guys, im attempting to change the fuel pump on my 90 dx hatch in my driveway on jackstands. I removed the tank brackets and lowered the gas tank. I cant completely take the tank off because the hoses are hard to get to but the tank is low enough to get to the pump. The pump wont come out unless i lower the fuel tank more. anybody have any suggestions. thanks!

uh thats for the 92 and up civics...for the 91 and below civics, the only way to take the fuel pump out is to drop the gas tank. under the rear seat is just where you plug the wire in. dropping the tank is easy but taking out the fuel pump can be a bitch...you have to kinda twist it around in a weird way for it to come out because of the filter.

It is a pain, I've done it before by supporting it with bunge cords and removing some of the hoses that are easy to get to so it comes down alittle bit more.

you can drop the tank and only unhook the lines to the fuel pump. I put a Walbro pump in mine a month ago and didnt unhook or drop the whole tank.
