EP3?
i had an offer for 03 on 50k miles with some mods for $12k
i think ~$13k is acceptable
good luck.
btw i almost bought one, but thank god i changed my mind and got rsx-s
its the better choice, if you have more funds i will recomend you to buy rsx-s.
good luck again

True. If it has mods on it already, you can use that to knock down the price. I personally would never pay 14,9 for an EP3. You can get a used type s for that much. Try to get them to 12,500 or less, if you can do that, I say go for it.
For some reason, prices for used EPs are trending up, not down. As others have said, you can easily buy a comparable RSX for the less. Go figure.
Whether the EP3 you are looking at is worth $14k+ depends on a lot of variables. If it's a clean, undamaged, one-owner car with no mods being sold by a Honda dealer with extended warranty and it's never seen a snow flake, then yes, it's worth $14k.

It it worth $14,900 from this dealer? In a word, no.
It may not matter to most buyers these days, but I personally would have no interest in buying a car, any car, that has spent perhaps three months of the year in the rust-belt. Salt is murder on cars; it rots everything from the inside out, not just sheet metal.
Second, the selling dealership cannot offer you a meaningful warranty, regardless of what they tell you at the time of the sale. Stated differently, when push comes to shove, a Chevrolet dealership couldn't care less about your Honda.
If you still cannot live without this car, if everything else checks out -- i.e., a one- owner car, no accidents, full documented/paper service history from a Honda dealership -- I'd start at $12k and walk away from the deal at $13k.

That's funny since it's physically impossible. If you're referring to quarter panels rusting from the inside out, that's true, but because of condensation, not salt. And what else is there to rust other than sheet metal? Bolts? I have a hard time seeing those rusting from the inside out.

You are right, of course. I was remembering all the filth and mess I drove through for years in Rhode Island. I disagree, however, that condensation alone is what rots cars from the inside out. NaCl is the catalyst. That's what takes out the tops of your front fenders, not condensation. That salty mess, along with the grit, invades every opening -- those at the bottom of your doors and at the base of your windshield cowl, for example -- not just quarter panels. Look at the bottom third of your radiator. Pull your brake calipers and see what that stuff does to the pistons in the calipers. And bolts? See if you can get your rear anti-roll bar off tonight without a torch to heat the bolts or, more likely, to cut them off.
Nah, Wisconsin may have a lot of great qualities, but your weather kills cars.

That's why the EP is going away for the winter! One winter and yes, I had to cut my endlinks off (3 of 4. Also because of poor allen wrench hole design).
I'm just saying salt + blasting heat is what does it. I like it cold so I don't crank the heat like a lot of other people do. My Accord had no rust while most every other one in that gen did. 135,000 miles and drove through every winter for 11 years.

2002, 45k miles, $11000 with over $6000 in mods. IDC if people say a modded car is worth less, I made over $1000 selling parts and most I would have bought anyways. I got some extra things I never would have wasted money on too (s2k push button start, type r door sills, spoon shift ****, jdm boot, vafcII that I sold, etc).
Buying a cleanly modded car for less than KBB and even NADA stock price ftw.
