Both cranks have the same stroke.

The deck heights are different between the A and B. Thats why when you put CTR pistons in a B16A block they "stick up" alot further than the P30s/PR3s (yeah the dome is big too but still )

IIRC The CTR block is the same as the GSR/ITR. Just the block alone that is. Same deck height and bore but different crank and rod stroke

The B16B uses the B18 block casting, which has a 7mm taller deck height than the B16A/B17A block.

You could do just as well without touching the bottom end; bolt-ons, an intake manifold, cams, valvetrain bits, and some ECU tuning would get you there with a B16A.

Don't listen to him.

I also can't stand the "Type-R bottom end de-stroked!" claim. First of all, they're both Type-R engines from Type-R vehicles. Second of all, if the B16B is "de-stroked" in the same block as the B18C5, then the crank and rods are different. Add to that the fact that the pistons are different, and you're left with both engines sharing only the block casting itself - so what relation does it have to the B18C5 bottom end again?
