how many of u guys have bad lower ball joints on ur eg suspension and what are the symptons. my car pulls to the side a little and i got my steering wheel shaking a bit. i noticed that the dust boot on the lower ball joint was torn and its been like that for a while. if any of u guys have had this prob i would like to know. thanks to anyone who replies.
Get the car in the air and check the joint for play. If the boot has been broken for a while, then the grease probably leaked out and/or was contaminated with dirt. Just as with an axle CV joint, once that happens, you should replace the joint.
Symptoms of a bad ball joint are rattling and/or squeaking over bumps, freeplay in the joint, and wheels falling off while driving.

I had a lower ball joint boot tear on me. There was no pulling or vibration, but instead there was a creaking/popping noise when I would turn the wheel, and only with the car on the ground. When I raised the car up, no noise.

yeah i do get a popping noise when i turn into a dip or a turn that causes stress on the part. do you need a press to get that piece out or do i just hammer that thing out?

Depends on your technical prowess.
I've seen it done on the car (on a two-post lift) by just hammering the old joint out from underneath, but I haven't tried it. When I replaced the lower ball joint on my Civic, I removed the knuckle and beat the old one out on the work bench, then pressed in the new one with the vice and a socket. It obviously took longer and required more effort, but I figured I'd probably miss and damage the brake rotor or something if I just started beating on the car with a hammer. I've been known to screw things up like that
