shifter rattle!???
ok.. bushing is new , shifter has a bit play to it , but it shifts fine .. only thing is while driving it rattles not a loud rattle but enough to ANNOY THE **** OUT OF ME !!!!!!!!
That's what mine did.. I replaced my stock rubber bushings with Energy Suspension Bushings and tightened up the bolt to my shifter/linkage and it went away.
THIER WASNT a at shield...i replaced bushing and shiftet(bearing on short shifer was F up) ..its nott like to loose but loose enough... i cant tighten the screw down their anymore !!!
Was your motor swapped before? Check the bitch pin to make sure there is a spring pin in there, and not a bolt! This could make for a reallll sloppy shifter.
Also, a bit of "shaking" is completely natural for the shifter, but it should not make an audible rattle. Pull out your cupholder, and make sure everything is tight down beneath the rubber boot! Check all bolts pertaining to the shifter, make sure they're there, and make sure they're tight!

There's not supposed to be a spring. A spring pin is just a pin, it just has a special name because it's a special load-bearing pin.
