Default 04 accord timing belt

my mom just bought an 04 accord coupe 4 cylinder ex auto. it has 72k miles on it.. ive been searching but cant find anything on when the timing belt should be changed.

i know on older cars it should be due for a change, but im not sure on newer cars. my father was saying something like 100k miles..

any input?

90k is when its usually done, but doing it earlier wouldn't be bad. I personally drove mine 127k before changing it, but i wouldn't recommend it

Wait arent newer K-Series a timing chain? Not belt?

Correct me on this someone. I know the RSX doesn't have a belt, uses a chain. Same goes with the TSX I believe.

NOPE.
I won't correct you because you ARE CORRECT.

Beginning in 2003 the 4-cylinder engine (K-series) has a chain, not a belt.
The V-6 continues with a belt, perhaps until the next major redesign.

wow so its a chain... i noticed in the owners manual it sayed v6 models only need to have the belt changed at ~70k, but it said nothing about 4 cylinders.. so how long does the chain last on these? i changed my 240's timing chain around 160k..
