Default Another one bites the dust... :(

Welp, it finally happened. The day before my two week business trip to Idaho I totalled my car. The pics don't really do justice to the damage, I hit a ~14inch curb doing about 55.

The damages 'look' light but most of what I know was damaged was:

Front bumper
radiator
transmission
oil pan
three wheels
two tires
driver door
driver rear panel
..and the killer, the frame.

Apparently i hit the curb so hard it put a wrinkle in my roof (something that wasn't noticed at the time of taking these pictures.)

It all boils down to this. Boys and girls, don't do stupid things while driving. IT WILL COST YOU. The very least of this I can say I walked away learning a lesson and keeping my life. I may get another someday, but until then. I'll be lurking around here.

Only had my custom wheels on for 3 days too... *sigh*

Also, if anyone ever sees a 2006 Civic Si, last four vin numbers 1874, DONT BUY IT. That would be mine. BAD frame damage.

PICS:

I didn't get much out of it before the insurance took it. I have some stock parts I took off.

Exhaust, Sway bar, shift ****, and trunk tray at the moment. Also a set of 2006 OEM Si wheels... im going to make a post on the FS thread soon.

thats what i said... it was sort of an industrial zone, dont know why they had monster curbs but it was huge. I took a big chunk out of it too.

If I may ask.....how exactly did you do that? Did you lose control around a turn or something?? Were you racing the silver Si in the background??

soething like that happened to my car too but it wasn't as damaged as yours. I'm real sorry for your loss, but take the insurance money and pick up another FG2!

Anyway, if you decide to part out your car, I'll take the emblems =P

Car is gone, parts available are in the FS thread. I'm not parting anything out because the insurance took the car and gave me the shaft. I'm just glad that i will have $600 more in my bank account each month (payment+insurance) So i can get some goodies while im down.

I just lost control and instead of jerking the wheel to try to avoid the crash and possibly rolling the car over and over, i just took the hit over the curb.

Good to see you're alright. And I cant really say i would be mad about keeping $600 extra in my account every month.

Sorry to hear this man

Tell me you have another SI in the works? You should be able to get one a LOT cheaper than $600/month with insurance. Well hopefully after that accident. It's odd that it doesn't even look all that bad at all.

To those who are in the know; how much would it cost for him to buy the vehicle back?

I'm not sure where the frame got bent but i know it did, the roof had a large wrinkle in it.

The only Si I have in the works right now is my 88 CRX Si. Won't likely get another FG unless i come across a really sweet deal.
