what does the 5.062 final drive actually do for the k20a2? Is it worth it? Is it true that you have to buy a bearing part because im running the stock 4.4 final drive? thanksss

putting a final drive in isnt a bad idea. the final drive will make your gears shorter and youll shift sooner. not a bad thing but its not gonna give you horsepower. i would say get some rods and pistons and a good set of cams.

this is a street driven car not track car..should i do the 5.062 final drive for a street car or leave the stock final drive? Also, should i buy stage 2 hasport axels or stage 1 will be fine? hmotorsonline.com charges 300 extra for axels thats where i will buy them most likely unless i need stage 2???

a 5.062 final isnt bad for street. im curious as to where you even found a 5.062. because the only ones i have found were 5.6x or 6.xx+.

the axles are up to you. there is a big price difference between the stage 1 axle and the stage 2 axle. stage 1's should do the job.

nothing is wrong with the 5.06x final drive. its up to you wether or not you want it. i would get i but then again i dialy a 4.9 final in an itr tranny so my vote is biased.

IPS KME or K2 cams and valvetrain coupled with any decent intake/header/exhaust combo and K-Pro tuning will get you there. That's really the only way to achieve your goal without forced induction or nitrous. You can bump the compression, but that alone won't do it. Without the cams, you're just whistling dixie, and with them you won't need the huge bump in compression.

Do some research and stop wasting our time.

I don't know. Why don't you have a moderator move this to the RSX/EP forum so people with this engine can actually help you?

wtf are you talking about? big cams will do nothing for you unless you have the compression for them to use. You have to bump the compression up to get the best out of any bigger cam.

The K20A2 has good enough compression for fairly large cams.
