Saw a Turbo ITR run 12.4 in colorado yesterday!!
I was down in Pueblo colorado yesterday running at the track there. There was a turbo 98 Type R. He said he had a T3/T4 custom turbo and was running 16lbs of boost. His best run was a 12.4 and ran 3 other 12.6 runs. I thought this was pretty amazing seeing it is at about 5000 ft of altitude.I think he could probably get into the 11's at sea level. Just wanted to get some thoughts on this. My friend actually raced him in his 92 prelude and has the slip of the run.
thanks
thanks
Keep in mind that boosted motors aren't affected by altitude nearly as much as NA motors. Atmospheric pressure is lower at altitude, and it's atmospheric pressure that's filling the cylinders. A turbo's intake almost never sees atmospheric pressure, only the boost.

Look where he ran it. 5000 feet above sea level.
He must have done a build up, I talked to that guy a couple years ago when it was running 8psi on the stock motor. Back then he was running 14.2, which up here is still beating an average C5.

I hit a 15.9, ITR00-700 hit a 15.8.
Our two runs are the best I've heard of completely stock. Another guy I know hit 15.7 with a Comptech Icebox, Comptech flywheel, Spoon 15"s and an ACT clutch.
Most of the stock ones I see hit about 16.1 to 16.3.

I was orginally from Pueblo. The track there isn't all that great either. Amazing run for the PMI track. Where was the ITR from? I know it wasn't from Pueblo. Pueblo sits excatly 4695 feet above sea level. What other kind of cars ran that day. I was in town for the weekend but didn't stop by.
My best is a 15 flat, though mostly a lot of 15.1s.
I've got a standalone ECU that I'm working on right now. When I get it finished I'm hoping to see more like 14.6s or so.

Do you have a Lotus Super 7 too?
I may have seen you at autox's around here, there's been a Super 7 at a couple of events I went to last year.

It very well might of been.
IM me when you're here. I'll go out and run with you.
That'll be time for a H-T meet Second Creek style!
