d15b7, shorter stroke than the rest of the d-series?
is it just me or does the d15b7 have a shorter stroke than the rest of the d-series(got a block and trying to build it) but i remember seeing on a d-series compression calculator that the b7 had something that was odder than the rest.......am i correct or just wrong and paranoid? thx to any knowledgable replies.
p.s. if so would i need a differ crankshaft and griddle or something?

Im not for sure if the stroke is diffrent on that motor or not but when you say your building yours, does that mean you are just rebuilding it and puting in new rings and bearings or are you trying to build it to make power.
i would save the money you were going to put into this motor and put it in a d16z6. way better setup, you get v-tec and there are tons and tons of parts. plus you can pick up a z6 swap for pretty cheap.
B7 shares the same stroke as all other D15's. Only D15 that has a different crank is the JDM D15B VTEC, which has the same stroke, but is able to run D16 rods.

already got the block, for so cheap that i didnt pay any money for it besides work.
ok so this is what i found out
Engine, Bore, Stroke, Rod Length, R/S Ratio
D15, 75 mm, 84.5 mm, 134 mm, 1.59:1
D16, 75 mm, 90 mm, 137 mm, 1.52:1
unless the d15 is vtec(d15b) so if i throw a vtec head on my b7 it will be alright to get eagle rods for d16? or would i still need a d16 crank? I am trying to build it for boost. thx to any help

Can only put D16 rods in a JDM D15B VTEC, or any D15 that has the JDM D15B VTEC crank.
Only crank that will work in any D15 is another D15 crank.
If you want the 90mm crank, you'll have to get a D16 block.
Rod choices are slim for the D15.

so in other words go find a d16 crank at the junk yard? you think i am going to want the griddle that goes with it?(i have a short block d15 at my house) and then i will technically have a d16?(be able to use d16 rods such as eagle's?) oh and thank you very much for the help on this.
dude. eagle makes rods for the d15b7 but there expensive as hell. if i remember correctly there 700 bucks. not worth it. ditch the d15 motor and pick up a d16z6 or even a d16y8 and build one of them. parts are cheapier. the d15b7 is a bastard motor.
so basically there is no way i am going to be able to use d16 eagle rods.........gayyyyyyyy. expletive lol, now i am going to be like"oh, I cant use this free block that you gave me because it just wont work with d16 rods lol" damnit
