not sure if any else has gotten one of these tickets, but I was wondering how to fight it? i was in a group of 3 cars (i remember, del sol si, and CX hatch) and all 3 of us were at a stop light, and we took off....the cop pulled ME over for squealing tires...what could be my defense? could it be "how could the officer distinguish between 3 cars??"

not sure about this one, any help is appreciated..

If your not guilty then look for tire marks on the road. And tie them to the lane you were in as compared to which lane the other cars where in. good luck

 

Okay...if you did it...then you're guilty. If you didn't do it, then chances are they wont beleive you.

Man...now that you were all polite I have a hard time being upset. Im still pissed that some jerk I dont even know walked in my room this morning.

 

I got 1, they said improper start from a stopped position. I paid 70 bux to ticket lawyer and I got off no points or court fees.

 

Man I got nailed for that one time, I got out of it because I said my foot slipped off the clutch and I never race, hehe

 

on the ticket what was the temperature?

if it was a damp morning or damp night you might be able to say it was just a 'get anxious, rev high, ride the clutch' type deal..i know ive accidently peeled out on a number of times.... however a long peel out is a but a mere chirp or what not

 

tell the damn pig that you we learning to drive a manual car and it pelled out as you were leaving..

 

I was thinking the same thing, but would they look to see how long you have had the car?

 

there is no way to get out of that ticket... Is your word against his, and who do you think they're gonna believe....

just say you were just learning to drive a stick and you accidentally dumped the clutch b/c you didnt want to stall in traffic... my friend has gotten off a couple of times with that one...

of course it was when the cop pulled him over.... not after he got the ticket... so i dont know ::

I got one from a 1-2 shift and catching hella 2nd. Failure To Maintain proper control. I'm going to tyr to tell the Judge that I just put a new clutch in the car and I was not used to it yet. If they believe me, I get off the hook, if they dont Im right back where I started, so nothing lost.

 

I had to take a freind to court last week to fight the same thing

He was leaving the illegals and the cop gave him a ticket for squilling his tires the judge orderd him to pay a $75 fine.
I told him to say it was not him and with 100 other cars leaving at the same time how could they prove anything.
He really did not try to fight it too much thou. He was more concernd about the other stuff running stop sign,speeding,no insurance,no registration. In total he got a $255 fine redused from the max of $1000+

 

i got one in down here like 2 years ago. careless operation. the roads were wet and i peeled out when i was leaving a stop sign. the ticket was like 70 bucks, but that bitch is 3 POINTS on my driving record. it doesn't help the $300 a month ins. note either. trust me. it can't hurt to try to fight it

 

Tell them you can't drive your 5 spd. that well and that you accidentally dropped the clutch too fast. That sounds believable.
