honda crv stalls when cold
My Honda CRV(1999) just started stalling when cold. As soon as it warms up, no problem. It runs a little rough lately though. Changed plugs, wires, fuel and air filters, distributer valve(?). Please help?
I should clarify that when the outdoor temperature drops to about 45 degrees and colder, this problem exists. When the outdoor temperature is warm, above about 45 to 50 degrees, there seems to be no problem.

yup and dont forget the dreaded crv burnt valve. has their been any cel ? but like chiovindca said check valve adjustment and go from their if all looks good do a leak down test
I've got the exact same thing going on. I've done the tune up and still nothing. What could it be?
what is a burnt valve and how do I check for it? Also, how do I check if I need my valves adjusted?

Would this still be the way to go with diagnosing?

I just had the valve adjustment done by my mechanic and my CRV runs like a dream now. I gave him all the very helpful info I received from this forum and he did just that, adjusted the valves which were way off, according to him.
A couple of months ago, when I discovered this forum, I came across someone who gave a website to go to that instructs step by step how to adjust the valves.
It is: http://home.earthlink.net/~michaelpkeefe/ and he will show you how.
If you take it to a mechanic, it is not that expensive at all but that is relevant to what you might think expensive is. Certainly worth the money when the alternatives could be a lot worse! Hope this helps!

Wow Ihurba, that's great that it worked out for you. If you don't mind, how much was it? Also, did he do the cylinder leak down as well, or just a valve adjustment? Nonetheless, thanks much to dtapia for all of your help and everyone else.
glad everyone got some help. a valve adjustment should run about 100 bucks or so depends on the place. the dealer would be around 1.0hr plus v/c gasket and gromets.
To my knowledge, he did not do a leak-down, only an adjustment. It cost $91.00 which is a little under what I was told it should cost (about $100.00) after I checked around. Good luck!
