Default Technical questions from a New Owner

Am thrilled to be an Acura RSX-S owner! Am new to it though, so have a few questions:
1. Can anyone offer their experience re: leather repair and care? Have a split on a seat that I want to fix before it breaks through to the foam. Magic Mender? Leather Magic? Other? How difficult is it?
2. Is it possible to install a remote start without compromising anything? Honda Accord warns against remote starts. This is a 2002 Acura.
3. My trunk was working beautifully, but now all of a sudden it will not open. I hear the trunk release click when I push the "unlock" button on key remote, but the squeeze opening won't budge. Any suggestions? (Will of course take to dealer if nothing surfaces.)
Many thanks in advance!

congrats and welcome to the club

1. Usually people ditch their seats for different kinds. I have a tear also in mine but i'm ditching mine also for the DC5-R recaro red seats so it doesn't bother me.
2. it is possible to install a remote start but is not recommended on ANY standard. That one day you forget that it is in gear will screw you. So my recomendation is not to install a remote start.
3. If your car has factory warranty i wouldn't bother with asking people to how to fix it and utilize the hell out of that factory warranty cuz it's bumper to bumper.

You don't have to leave your car in gear. But, he's right, most people do and when you forget you did and start it up and it jumps forward into someone or something, have fun with that lawsuit. Not to mention, it will be hard to find a shop to put it in for you, as most of them won't.
