Who said there could be another picture thread?!?! I didn't, and I don't think -RedneckDave- did either since I discussed with him why I was locking the other thread.
I locked it for a reason.
I'll leave this open for now to discuss it if anyone wishes, but thats it. I'll be removing all pictures from this thread.

I think we need to have another one or have the original reopened.. maybe we could put something like: ONLY PICTURES NO DISCUSSION! right in the title instead of in the first post so people get it... most people are probably just scanning the thread for pictures and mod lists anyway and sort of look past that first picture-less post.

There will not be a new one. At most I MAY reopen the old one at a later date, the pictures still work and I don't see any reason to get rid of it, I'm just tired of people not following the rules of the thread. So for now, it's staying closed.
The suggestion of "no discussion" in the title isn't a bad one and may be considered but I'm unsure of the affect it will have if any.

Just seems like it would be hard, if not impossible, to keep every and anyone from posting comments in the picture threads. In the meantime alot of people who enjoy the thread and werent culprits in this are going to suffer. I understand your frustration, as most of us do when we have to scroll through pages of bullshit comments to look at the pictures. Is there any way you can make it so you can only post images only and not text in the thread? I don't know if its possible to set it up like that, but it's a thought.

I get what you mean, but I guess it's like the saying goes "one bad apple spoils the bunch". In this case it was way more than just one but you get the point

In the past (for those of use who have been around long enough to know) the usual course of action was too delete the thread when it got out of hand. I figure thats not necessary but something needs to be done.
Something else that been done in the past was to leave the thread locked and people would have to send an IM to the mod to unlock so the user could post their pictures and then the thread would be locked right back up. I'm not sure how well this worked out because I've never really kept on it. Now that I'm a mod I naturally have to keep up on it.
Some of you may recall that the Accord Picture Thread was un-stickied and locked at the beginning of this year for certain reasons. When I became a mod some users asked for it to be brought back so I cleaned it up and re-stickied it. So it's not that I don't want the thread.

i dont understand whats the big deal about giving some one a compliment about another member car...isnt the point of a forum to talk???
you see a picture of a member's accord in the picture thead and you tell them that they have a nice car and then you loose a point on your Rating??? and now we try to start a new thread and then you lock it??? and delete the pictures??? there is rearly anyone here causing trouble...this no comment rule is rather riduclous... just my opinion... do whatever you guys want...this shouldnt even be up for discussion, i mean for god sakes this is a "FORUM" !!!!!

</TD></TR></TABLE> The point of the forum is to provide technical insight or information. Honda TECH. And when everyone is leaving comments it makes the thread extensively long and difficult to view, not to mention longer to load. That's what the PM/IM feature is there for.

The point of this forum is technical based discussion. Not pictures, there is a whole other forum for that.
when you post a comment for the first time I give a warning. The second time I deduct a point. So anyone who has lost a point because of this is well aware of why they lost it.

You are more than welcome to have your opinion but this is a Technical forum just as it's always been. Most of the technical forum are run the same way, thats why there is a forum specifically for posting pictures of your car.

1) HT can't limit picture posting size automatically - reason being? We don't host the image, someone else does, we just have img tags.
2) The Picture thread clearly states what it's meant for, pictures, no comments or high fives, take that **** to PM or dont post it
3) Yes if you make a gay *** post "omg my accord" yes it will be locked go to A/C for it
What Touring did was fine in my eye, what OP did was not (why would you make a duplicate thread when the other was locked for a reason?)

Can we just create a system. Maybe put all the pictures in a sub forum. Each person with his/her car will create a thread just for their car. And put up that link into the Accord picture thread. In that Accord picture thread, 1 member can show 1 cover (medium sized) picture followed by the link.
IF this works, hopefully, all the comments will go into each user's thread. I got to admit, it is annoying for me waiting for all the pictures to load. and sometimes the format people put it, messes things up.
