its because i put new springs into my car and i could only get the bolt that holds the strut and the tie rod to go up a little then it wouldnt but i took it to a shop cuz i was tired of dealing with it.........but after they installed the springs there is like a popping sound when i turn on the driver side only does anyone know why its doing that?

mine does that to... right after i put on my springs. but i never did anything with the tie rod but yeah its safe to dirve to a shop but i would just tighten the tie rod bolt as much as you can i just installed the driver side tie rod with ease.. but thats all i can say

Based on your previous thread, I think it's your axle. When you had to slide the joint back in, did you ever take the boot off? ANY dirt in there and it's shot.

...the bearings on your axle are prolly shaved off. u might have to get a new one. have the shop look @ your axle to make sure.

my car made popping noises too. It went away after a while after everything settled in. how much did you drop your car? also if the nut wouldn't tighten anymore you could've just held the bolt with some small vice grips and tightened it that way.

also check how the spring sits. and no, if your tie rod boot is bust, you'll need a new tie rod. by bust i mean you popping the actual boot or puncturing it.

ohh well no its not punctured and the tie rods are like this \_/ like they go up instead of straight is that common after altering the suspension and i think that popping sound comes from the tie rod hitting against something thats around it because its close to somethings around it on both sides but it only makes noise on the driver side
