What octane gas do you notice the best performance?
On your EP3 or base RSX do you notice any better gas mileage or performance on any one octane. I know it only requires regular and I know what the octane in gas means. But I am just curious.
On my 89 hatchback I noticed the best gas mileage on plus gas (89) as compared to regular or premium.

We've had this discussion before...the Ep3 actually runs better on 91 octane, even though it calls for only 87.
RSX-S, the higher, the better. I usually run 93 in mine, or 94 if Sunoco has it for a decent deal.

runs better.. do you mean more mileage? if so would it provide enough mileage to off set the cost of premium gas?
rsx-s premium is recommended.

99 octane v-power for my Type-R. honda recommend 100 but this is the closest you can get in the UK. ive tried it on 95 but the performance drops markedly. the only downside is that v-power costs around £1.08 (about $2) per litre here and a full tank (£60) lasts me for one weeks commuting! oh well, there has to be at least one down side to owning a DC5
if its a base rsx or ep3. . . just use regular. . .
they have low compression engines, high octane will do nothing for you but use your money up faster

Please don't spread misinformation.
While premuim is indeed more expensive, the EP3 will adapt to the higher octane gas and give you a little more HP. This was confirmed on a dyno. It'll take a tank or so, but you'll see some more power if you have the $$ to burn on premium.
The ECU is what makes this happen as it adjusts timing accordingly.

Honestly its always been my understanding that octane has no real influence on the overall BTU value of gasoline. Octane is an additive used to deture detonation under high tempratures so if your running a low compression ratio in the 8-9.5 range I dont see any real advantage to using 91 or 93, just more money spent on fuel.
Now if you choose to run a higher CR or Boost then you must run higher octane gasoline or say bye bye to your motor.
