Default Windows, Tach, Speedo, Clock, Temp Gauge, Dash Indicators, all died at once

In the middle of driving, my windows, tach, spedometer, clock and all the indicator lights on the dash (srs, seatbelt, e-brake, etc) stoped working. Everything else is fine. The clock works if you press the illumination button but doesnt light up on its own. Also the windshield wipers; int doesnt work but lo and hi do!!? The back lighting in the dash works. I can still read rpm off the v-afc so its not ecu. Interior lighs all work as well. Checked all fuses under dash and hood. Anything like this ever happen to any of you or do I have to rip the entire dash apart to follow every wire? Thanks for the help.

Its gotta be a fuse if they all went out at once. Check the fuses again. Pull each one out and look it over carefully. Nothing else I can think of would make sense for what you are describing.

*edit*
Make sure you check all the big square fuses under the hood are also good. Sometimes they are hard to see, so you'll have to unscrew them and take them out.

I did check the fuses very carefully, as I thought this was the problem as well,. Then I checked them all again. I may just replace all the fuses anyway that pertain to those items. However Im afraid this is going to be a trouble-shooting ball of joy, and I'll just have to spend the weekend ripping up the dash and checking each wire, lead, and conection. The only thing that I didnt check was the relays. I took em out and pluged em back in but is there a way to see if they are bad? Thanks

Not sure how to check them to see if they are good, but that could be the problem. Maybe replace them one at a time and try to eliminate the bad one?

Hey I have the same exact problem with my car. I have a 1991 and it just started doing the same thing you just described. I need to get my car going this weekend too let me know if we can help each other out to trouble shoot this? email me @ davidvo@shsu.edu
Thanks. I don't think its the relays though because mine has done this before and then turned back on.

Yeah so I finally found a simillar topic and this situation occured after he had been playing around with a cd player he was installing. So I took out mine to see if any wires were loose or anything. I unplugged everything back there and pluged it back in. I checked the fuse box later an sure enough, a fuse was blown. But when this first happend, no fuses were blown. It was the under dash fuse for the blinkers/back-up lights (which all worked before, as this was one of the first things that I trouble shot). So I put a higher amp fuse in (not recommended but its what I had to do) and everything works fine. Hope this helps
