91 R/T4wd Wagovan Da16a (Engine Troubles)
Hello All,
Im hoping someone could help me solve my problem with my R/T 4wd (stock motor) Wagon 6spd. Well the other day while getting off the exit my car shut off & wouldnt start. As I shifted out of gear the RPM started to drop & keept dropping until the motor was off. Right after the motor shut off the oil light & batt light came on. After getting the car towed home & someone suggesting to check the distributor. I realized the cap had something that had broke. I did a quick tuneup oil, sparkplugs, cap, rotor & new battery.
I test drove the car & it seemed fine but whenever I would get off the hwy on a slanted hill the RPM would drop & unless I jumped on the gas it would just keep dropping unitl the car shut off. Its still giving me oil & batt lights. It starts up but idles rough unless I gas it. Once started it works fine.
Someone told me Idle control unit. I clean that & it ran a bit better but still shuts off as discribed above. Someone also suggested map sensor, oil pressure?
Can someone help diagnose the problem & hopefully tell me what I need to do to get it fixed & running again.

if it only happens on a hill, then you could have an intermittent short or open on one of those sensor wires. Get the car running and jiggle the sensor connectors and any other connectors under the hood. it's a weird problem, I can't think of what else it may be.
