D15B VTEC
Yes it will all d series motors are interchangeable except ZC.The only concern would be OBD1 orOBD2 ?Make sure you get the right one or you'll need to convert it!
Yes it will all bolt up, 95+ d15b vtec's have dual vtec and I haven't seen anyone wire that up. If you don't have strict emissions laws were you live then you can get the 92-95 spec d15b and just use a obd2>obd1 conversion harness and run the p28 ecu. And also if your car doesn't have vtec its going to have to be wired up. Why are considering the d15b rather then another motor swap? -ejoner.

I dont have the money to do a b-series swap. I just bought a new tranny and centerforce clutch and I'd rather use them than sell them. The d16y7 in my car is blown...and from what I have heard it is one of the better swaps to do for SOHC.

Do your research before you get cocky, thinking you know Honda's so well. If you don't know what I'm talking about then don't assume it doesn't exist. ******* idiot.
D15B (with 3 stage VTEC) Commonly called dual stage Vtec. (two solenoids)
* 3-stage VTEC
* Found in:
o 1996-1999 Honda Civic VTi EK3 and Ferio Vi
Since your car is obd2, I would just swap it over with a d16y8 (sohc vtec) obd2. Shouldn't be to much trouble just have to wire up a few things. -ejoner

how are the smog laws around you?
strict?
if you think you can get by w/o too much smog scrutiny, then i'd recommend going with whatever the cheapest sohc vtec you can find. whether it be d16z6, d16y8, or d15b vtec,
they're all prettymuch the same stuff.
but if you can get a y8, that would be ideal as it will bolt right up, and is already obdII

if you dont know proper terms then maybe you should research then post the correct term of the action that takes place in the vtec-e engines efore you try bashing someone for not understanding your terminology

Since you knew of 3stage vtec you could have assumed thats what I was talking about, People refer to that motor as dual vtec all the time do to the fact that it has TWO VTEC solenoids. Quit trying to redeem yourself after making your own self look stupid.
